Andoni Iraola has made a positive start to life at Liverpool, already bringing the best out of some of his squad.
His side sit 6th in the Premier League heading into the first international break of the season, winning two and drawing three in his inaugral campaign on Merseyside.
The Spaniard has already got the best out of some key members of his squad- so who’s impressed for the Reds so far?
5. Alisson
Entering his ninth season at Anfield, legendary Brazilian shot stopper Alisson has made a great start in what’s set to be his final year on Merseyside.
Those higher up at the club seeing his start may be beginning to consider a contract extension for the 33-year-old, with an impressive 75% save percentage to start the 2026/27 campaign.
With such great form, similar to captain Virgil Van Dijk, those running the show in L4 may wish to extend his contract past next June.
4. Alexis Mac Allister
Criticised by many last season for his sub-par midfield outings, Alexis Mac Allister was heavily rumoured for a summer departure- the Reds chose to keep him around, and so far they’re reaping the benefits.
The former Brighton man has looked back to his best, scoring a crucial goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and garnering praise for the balance and experience he adds to Iraola’s midfield.
3. Victor Munoz
Purchased from Osasuna for £35m, Liverpool poached talented Spanish winger Victor Munoz from under Newcastle’s noses in June, and he’s quickly winning many of the Anfield faithful.
His electric pace and keen eye for goal has caught the attention from many across the Premier League, and has already opened his account for the year with a well taken goal against Nottingham Forest to rescue his side a point.
2. Cody Gakpo
Dutch attacker Cody Gakpo cut a frustrating figure last season, with predictable end product and a severe lack of clinicality many got to know him for. With four goal involvements in four games though, he’s starting to win Reds over once more with a strong start.
Manchester City keenly pursued the former PSV man in the late stages of the window- but Liverpool refused their approaches, and so far, it seems to be the right call.
With six goal involvments in six games this season, wether he’s off his preferred left hand side or troubling full-backs off the right, Gakpo has been impressive and back to his effective best.
1. Jérémy Jacquet
Many seemed concerned for who will partner Virgil Van Dijk at RCB this season, after Ibrahima Konate departed for Real Madrid on a free transfer. Up steps Konate’s compatriot Jeremy Jacquet, signed from Rennes in February and has seemingly filled his gap.
Physically dominant with excellent game reading, the 21-year-old has adapted to English football excellently, and his debut campaign is off to a flyer.
Liverpool beat off interest from the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid to land the 21-year-old’s signature- and after a marvellous start and a seamless transition to English football, it’s clear to see why some of Europe’s best sides were so keen to land him.
